In 2024, SunRail completed a technology upgrade to improve the fare system. With this update, yellow SunCards no longer work and MUST be transferred or closed.
Customer service can determine if your old SunCard still has a balance on it. If so, those funds may be:
- Transferred to a new SunCard
- Refunded at your request
Follow these simple steps:
- Have your yellow SunCard available.
You’ll need to provide the 16-digit SunCard number. - Contact SunRail Customer Service at:

5:30 am – 9:30 pm - A customer service representative will validate the balance,
then assist you in either a transfer or refund.

What if I don’t claim my funds?
Balances that are not claimed after <???> will be submitted to the
Florida Department of Transportation’s Dormant/Escheatment program.
What if I have a registered yellow SunCard?
You can simply transfer your old SunCard value (Recover your account) to a NEW SunRail account.
